News on WPCCA Winter 2022 Concerts

The Board of the Welland Port Colborne Concert Association voted to cancel the remaining concerts in the series for 2021-2022.  The decision was made primarily out of concern that our Association does not have the volunteer resources to manage the requirements necessary to stage performances to safeguard the health of our patrons during these challenging times.  As we do not have a crystal ball to predict the future, we want to avoid disappointing you by waiting until next spring to make further plans for 2022-2023.  We will however still award the annual Scholarship for a Centennial student graduating in 2021 to pursue studies in the performing arts or hospitality.

The Welland Port Colborne Concert Association has made performing arts accessible to the community since 1947 through a team of dedicated volunteers.  Over the last decade we have gradually responded to demands by our changing audience demographic by offering an eclectic mix of shows.  Some people marvel that we can bring such amazing concerts to Welland and at such affordable prices!   The pandemic has accelerated the need to consider changes for the future. Our irreplaceable Ticket Administrator, Hilda retired after decades of service. Our loyal team of volunteers need new recruits.  It is very satisfying to be involved with such exciting and quality productions. We look forward to welcoming newcomers who will bring invaluable skill sets to our organization. We will continue to be a necessary, vibrant, essential cultural part of this community, but we need your support.

We welcome your feedback as we consider our future.
